I'm just borrowed and plan on reading Delia's Crossing by V.C. Andrews.
I read all of V.C. Andrews books starting with Flowers in the Attic back when she was alive and stopped after reading the series that was continued by someone else but under her name. I think the family wanted it that way but for some reason the stories didn't grab me. Now there are More books after she died than she actually wrote. That's a little weird.... Anyway, giving a new series a try. Hope I like it!

I didn't continue reading the short story by Gerritsen. I'm glad I posted the link because I forgot about it. I have also started Erewhon by Samuel Butler. It's about a topsy-turvy (sp?) utopian society where criminals are viewed as sick and get care in hospitals but those sick, depressed, etc. are viewed as criminals and put in jail.

The Enemy series
It was a book that ended up in the stockroom at work. No one knew how it got there or who it belonged to. So when I was bored one day, I ended up reading a few pages and wanted to keep going. Didn't realize until the end that it was the first in a series.
So far, I've read The Enemy, The Dead, The Fear, and The Sacrifice. I'm just starting The Fallen and I think there's one after that... Idk.
Also didn't realize it was young adult horror (lol)... geez... though I have nothing against young adult novels. Within the past couple of years I read The Hunger Games series and started The Divergent series.
The Enemy series is like The Walking Dead, with preteens. Post-apocalyptic, re-building society, danger around every corner. Hoping I get some answers in The Fallen... though the timeline for the series kind of jumps around a little.

The Scorch Trials, the book after The Maze Runner
The write up calls it a cross between Lord of the Flies, Lost, and The Hunger Games. Pretty accurate.
