Book excerpt:
Artistry
Awakening bathed in a perfect morn's glow So warmed by this and your whispers of love Lingering smiles from an indigo night Candlelit and sparkling with the stars
A sharing of colors I once dreamt of Emerging and arching toward the skies A beautiful blending of essence with you Chasing shadows with touches of light
Sincerity mirrored in hazel eyes A gift of sunrise in golden flecks Hearts stilled in this breathless moment A prelude of dreams coming true
An outlook renewed I dared not expect Nor such love from hesitance grow Yet a glimpse of colors seen from afar Instilled hope luminous, ambient
Zsanece Smith
of roses and wine
When love is afar and time is still, I dream of her, in hushed colors of roses and wine Just to touch her when she is lonely, to embrace her when she cries To kiss away her dark, love away her sighs Within her arms is where I long to be, to tell her I love her in the hush of color, of roses and wine

Back cover:
Zsanece Brown-Smith was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1976. Much of her poetry is inspired by dreams and love, longing and the comfort found in silence. Her work has often been described as bordering on the metaphysical, finding connections between very dissimilar things.
Kale Rogers was born in North Carolina and still makes his home there. Much of his poetry is inspired by insight, love and nature. Growing up in rural southeastern North Carolina taught him to appreciate the gift of solitude and how this enables one to understand things around them. This upbringing has been a major influence on his poetry.
Kale and Zsanece began to collaborate on poems within an online poetry community, The Starlite Cafe. Their styles complimented each other so well that they began to write together regularly.
