"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." ~Thomas Merton Share various forms of artwork here and your thoughts about where the artwork took you! It is not a requirement to add a thought to a piece of art you submit right away. Feel free to dwell first. Some pieces may find their way into the Poetry or Short Story Picture Challenges with a thanks to you for sharing them here, if there is no current host providing a piece of art. If what comes to mind is a poem, feel free to post one but the idea is sharing ideas in a discussion format. Looking forward to seeing both your thoughts and seeing the artwork that you either lost yourself in or found yourself in!

This one was submitted elsewhere on a friend's page that I was invited to join. That group also discusses artwork. Thanks again booda39

Sometimes what we see and what we learn tears at our faith. This is what I'm getting from not just the pages being shredded but how they are being shredded. They are feeding it to her nonetheless, presenting faith and digesting the past (the additional books) as painful necessities.

Reflective, somber even. But that's ok with me. Reminds me of a quote I saw today, Sadness and darkness can be very beautiful and healing.

Profile shots, things like that. I think I see both strength and vulnerability. And that is definitely me

tag by angeleyes I thought of vigilance with this one. Always be aware of your surroundings and... don't head into a situation that makes those hairs on your arm stand up.

Ok. This is a picture shared in class by my instructor... I need to describe it, as if I'm telling someone about it who cannot see it. Talk about what feelings it evokes, etc. Figured I could share it here too. I'll be back with thoughts about it. Feel free to share yours too! classroom.ecollege.com

This was used for the 3rd Qtr Picture Challenge, but another member that didn't get a chance to enter mentioned that it definitely evoked an emotional response. Let's discuss that! It made me think of breathlessness. That immediate thought took me here: It made me think of having the water temp up as high as I can stand it in the shower and the steam making me all lightheaded... But then that feeling attached to something else. Someone, perhaps.

I see determination and possibility or maybe the very beginning of a rebirth even though the outward appearance is one of desolation and darkness. Too much?? ;D
